The Marriages of Peter & Elizabeths Children

JANE Worthington married John Farrimond, Aug 1st 1864 at Rainford Parish Church Prescot. They had seven children, Esther, James, William, Joseph and Matilda. Elizabeth and Richard.

JEHU Worthington married Ellen Barton B 1822 Ashton, she died 24 Dec 1908. She was down as a widow on the marriage cert. Her father was Peter Blinston. Ellen Blinston married Josiah Barton in 1862. He died, and she re-married JEHU on 3 June 1874., Wigan Rigistry Ofice Chapel. They had no known children, and Ellen was of similar age to Elizabeth, Jehu's mother. Both Jehu amd Ellen are buried with Peter and Elizabeth at Hindley Cemetry.

WILLIAM Worthington married Margaret Swift, B? she died 9 Mar 1920. They married on 23 Sept 1882 at All Saints Church Hindley. They had a daughter Margaret born in 1890, Wigan. Other siblings not found. William and Margaret, buried in same plot as above.

MARY Worthington married Thomas Schofield ( his birth and death details not yet known). They married at All Saints Church Hindley on 8 Dec 1883. No known children, and Mary died age 31 from heart disease on 24 Oct 1891. They too are buried in Hindley Cemetry with above.

RICHARD Worthington married Sarah Ann Swanton, 28 June 1884. Wigan Registry Office. (Her birth/death details not yet known).

SAMUEL Worthington (our great grandfather) Married Jane Tatley she was born 25 June 1866, Hindley and died 6 Mar 1942 in Southport.

They were married at Frederick Street Chapel Hindley on 14 Aug 1889. They had four children:-

Bertha, b 10 Jan 1891 Hindley, died 1975 Southport

Arthur b.1894 Hindley, died 1972 Southport

Gilbert (our grandfather) b 12 Dec 1896 Chadderton nr. Oldham, died 12 Mar 1976 in Southport.

May b 14 Jan 1902 Chadderton nr. Oldham, died 2nd April 1973 in Southport.

All except Gilbert, buried in Southport with Samuel and Jane in same plot.
