Gilbert Worthington and NellieFinney

Gilbert Worthington was Samuels youngest son, who married our grandmother Nellie Finney who was born on 25 Dec 1898 in Macclesfield and died 2 Oct 1982 in Promenade Hospital Southport. (both grandparents were cremated at Southport).

Gilbert and Nellie married at West End Chapel, Lord Street Southport on 12 October 1922

Gilberts other siblings never married and shared a house together in Southport. They are buried in Southport with Samuel and Jane.

Gilbert and Nellie had two sons Gilbert Samuel 'Roy' Worthington, (known all his life as Roy!). He was born on 28 Dec 1922, Southport, and sadly died in 2001. He married Audrey Balmforth 7th Feb 1948 at All Souls Parish Church, Southport.

Leonard Arthur Worthington (our father), born 23 Apr 1932 Southport, and married Thelma Mavis Nickson, b 13 Aug 1936 in Southport.

They had two daughters Julie Worthington, b. 29 Oct 1958 and

Wendy Worthington b. 10 Sept 1961, both born in Southport.

Julie Worthington married in 1984, but divorced in 2001 and had three children:-

Christopher John Stirk, b 31 Jan 1985

Iain Craig Stirk, b 22 July 1987

Lauren Elizabeth Stirk, b 18 July 1990, Being the youngest descendant and last in this line of Worthingtons!!
